I opened my box of new and gently used items for my daughter and was almost brought to tears. There were clothing items in that box that I had never even thought about (like tights! I still forget to buy these).

But it was the letter, this box came all the way to NOLA from a mom I didn't even know, had never met. To this day I have kept that letter as a reminder and as my motivation for The Mommy Giving Circle. That letter of love, understanding, compassion and sparkles of the joy of being a mommy had me forever committed to carrying out her wishes of paying it forward to the next mommy. So, to my mommy Angel thanks for inspiring The Mommy Giving Circle. Since inception, we've helped over 20 moms get items they need and a piece of mind to go with it. -Dr. Candice Dawson

I was about to be a mommy for the 1st time.... WOOSAH! LOL I was living in New Orleans in a new city with my husband and my family was states away. I was nervous and uncertain about a lot of things to say the least. While I had grown to become apart of my now NOLA family, I was still unsure about the journey of motherhood.

One day I took my daily ritual of my long walk to the mailbox and around our apartment complex to discover a box had been delivered to me. I didn't recognize the return address on the label but what was inside reassured me my journey was going to be just fine.
